I end up fixing a 2001 Honda 400ex that was having major issues. This 400ex problem was a mystery but I finally figured out what it was. #Honda, #400ex, #Fix...I have owned 2 300s. And ex 400s, etc. going back to 250 r 3 wheeler days. A big bore won't give you much without a pipe. Rejetting won't be absolutely necessary but it's cheap and will wake it up. But you'll still have poor suspension, average brakes, etc. To make it even decently quick overall won't be cheap. A Suzuki 400 is another great quad.
