The various stories in the Cosmere take place on a number of different planets in the same universe. Each planet tends to have one or more Shards ("gods" like Ruin, Preservation, Honor, Odium, etc.) tied to them. This chart is basically just fixing those issues. It opens up the starting point but still encourages reading all the early cosmere books first. Then moves to the later stuff, with Stormlight last if you care to take the arrows' advice. The cost is complexity of course.

The Cosmere is a star cluster of 50-100 stars (and the corresponding space in the cognitive realm). Brandon has said that anything outside this area is out of scope of the story, so whether there are other Adonalsiums outside of it, or whether there's anything at all outside of it, isn't really accessible. Earth is not part of the Cosmere. While a lot of this is speculative, I think the Stormlight timeline is pretty solid: five year gap between 5 & 6, then three year gaps between 6 through 10. While not capitalized, Cultivation did explicitly say she was looking for someone to bear Odium with honor. Stay off of Reddit until you do, more and more people are going to post more and more spoilers by mistake or accident. I ALMOST posted a spoiler asking about a very obscure thing in the cosmere that is mentioned in the book, but I realized even the title and the timing itself might be a spoiler. Stay away until you are finished!I think a Roshar/Scadrial war is the end goal of the Cosmere, and the final Mistborn series- the one that Sanderson says will be a space opera- is the series where it will take place.
