Weirdly, not if it isnt actually corrupt biome where you are. If you are building a house where some of it is in corruption, you are correct, it says its corrupt. If the house is built in purity, but when you took a few steps out the door the biome changes to corrupt, the game will sometimes just give the blanket "this is not valid housing"

Break all the corrupted stuff around your house... grass, dirt, sand, tree... etc.. This will take a long time too.. lol I haven't play for a year... but i would highly suggest just making a new world.. and start with a huge border around your place or border at the crimson/corrupted area
