I know some people enjoy the romance part, but other than Galfrey (who's a Kickstarter reward), all the love interests are companions. Which means they have to be interesting characters who fit the story and have good utility first, love interests second.

Sneak attack is also great since cantrip proc them, so eldritch scoundrels and arcane trickers don't really need ranged weapons they can just auto attack with cantrips. As other people are saying, (attack) cantrips are crap unless you get sneak attack. However, sneak attack buffs rays, not cantrips specifically.
