Definitely ask your doctor. Anecdotally, I had alarmingly high cholesterol when I started, I ate 3-4 hard boiled eggs a day while I was trying to lose weight. After losing 65 lbs my cholesterol was fine even though my egg intake skyrocketed. For me it wasn't a problem but I'd still suggest you talk to your doctor and keep an eye on it.
