Jul 3, 2020 · #1 · Jul 3, 2020 Evening Folks, Picked up a Lima320 Grip Module for my P320 XCarry that I got a month ago. (Old eyes are not as sharp getting on target as they once were). Disassembly and putting most of it back together went fine. This is what happens when the guide rod is either in the wrong orientation or off-center (on compact models). To me, something looks wrong with the take down lever. Remove slide and make sure the FCU is seated in the grip module and make sure that take down lever is inside properly and press back all the way. #1 · Jul 3, 2020 Evening Folks, Picked up a Lima320 Grip Module for my P320 XCarry that I got a month ago. Rack the Slide to the rear slowly. Slowly push the Slide forward until you feel the Striker Pin barely make contact with the Sear. With the pistol pointed in a safe direction, slowly pull the Trigger to lower the Sear.Hide Post. Two of my three P320 pistols (Gen 1 and Gen 2) had tight take down lever syndrome. My solution was to lightly scuff the circumference (removing some Nitron finish) with a 3M Scotchpad, then lube it. I did not permanently remove or change the O-ring for a smaller OD size. They worked smoothly after that.

Mar 7, 2017 · Instead of an "all at once" cam on the ramp, it's more gradual. That and some oil makes the lever work much better. There is still a minor friction when taking down the fully assembled 320. That friction is not present on the return path of the TDL. It's a weird problem. I'm out of ideas.

Sorry in advance for the cruddy cell phone pictures, but here goes: I recreated the problem by installing my completed slide on my FCU and grip module, minus the takedown lever. Once you do this, you would quickly realize that something was wrong and see the part was missing.

The takedown lever is barely manageable in the Compact grip and nearly impossible to manage without tools in the X-Carry grip module. I have a separate P320XCA that where it's takedown lever is appropriately manageable, so I know what could be expected. Pushing in, rotate the take down lever (both clockwise and counter clockwise works) until it pushes all the way in. They were following the disassembly procedures in TM 9-1005-470-10 (Mar 19), but the takedown lever was getting stuck about a third of the way into the rotation. After inspecting the pistol, we found that the recoil spring guide assembly had moved downward. This caused the base of the rod to wedge into the cutout in the takedown lever.

After firing about 15, one round failed to fully open the slide and the slide became stuck in the frame about 1 cm short of fully opening. So I checked my P320 and with a magazine in it, I can only spin the takedown lever about that far and with pressure it can get stuck. But if thats not your issue, and its cleared of mag, release the slide back to normal, hand rack it a bunch of times, lock the slide back and see if your gas pedal can go fully down.Most are right hand shooters and that way the pistol still works well, and the takedown is now on the right side. Since the slide catch is on both sides, wouldn't matter. Simply lock the slide back, then on the right side of the pistol push the takedown lever down and remove the slide. Simple. The issue is, there is a small piece of sheet metal blocking the hole.Then, I use my P320 compact and sub compact's own takedown lever as a tool to pry up the lower front of the trigger group from the grip. There is a notched out area in the inside of the grip that lets me get the take down lever's outside facing arm (the flat part of the takedown lever) underneath the lower front of the trigger group.
