It's a bit questionable whether a kid would be able to possess an animatronic that is already possessed. However, if the kid possessed Funtime Freddy first, and then the remnant was added, then this isn't really a problem. That being said, if Funtime Freddy was already possessed, I'm not sure why Afton would feel the need to add remnant to him.
