My reading order was Mistborn Era 1, Mistborn Era 2 (SH after), Stormlight (Warbreaker before/during WoR), and Elantris. I plan to give them a reread in the future; by the time the next sequels come out, I'll want to reimmerse myself in their respective worlds. For now, here's my tier list (and ranking) of the books. Warbreaker is in my top 3 cosmere books, along with the Way of Kings and Emperor's Soul. I've only read the mistborn trilogy and warbreaker, I would like to read more but easily distracted. Warbreaker holds a very special place in my heart and I don't understand why but it's easily one of my favorite books.Sep 22, 2021 · Wax and Wayne in The Alloy of Law. The Alloy of Law, Book One in the Wax and Wayne Trilogy is the next book in the Cosmere reading order. Though this is a separate trilogy, it is the fourth book in the Mistborn saga. The Alloy of Law takes place on Scadrial, the Shardworld, where Era 1 of Mistborn occurs. It is a cosmere story set on the planet Canticle. On March 24th 2022, Brandon released the first ten chapters along with some brief commentary, which can be …

So I'd have a hard time believing that a Rosharan could be sufficiently cosmere-aware to know about Scadrial but potentially not have even heard of a Cryptic. Also "some of you" indicating a plural You audience, so who the heck knows. The Lord Ruler had 3 motivations: He wanted to rule. He wanted to create the perfect empire. One whose workings remained preserved even on a genetic level. He wanted to be ready for Ruin's attack/freedom. So skaa were generally hardier and bred more easily. Better equipped for manual labour.

Full Cosmere Spoilers!! Everything about SP1 is in spoilers So we know that the Cosmere's time is sort of fluid, and most of the events aren't happening simultaneously. This is the order I think they take place in. 1st. White Sand volumes 1-3 (Taldain) 2. Shadows for Silence in the Forests of Hell (Threnody) 3. Elantris (Sel) 4.

He just had the misfortune of getting caught on that very ship, thereby sailing away from Diggen Point before he had a chance to disembark and snatch Tress. The lucky coincidence then is just that then happened to be when Tress went on her voyage anyway, which felt like a more acceptable stretch to me. Chapter 36. Same goes for below. Elantris - Sel. Elantris -> (Hope of Elantris) -> (The Emperor's Soul) Mistborn - Scadrial. The Final Empire -> Well of Ascension -> Hero of Ages (era 1) Alloy of Law -> Shadows of Self -> Bands of Mourning -> The Lost Metal (era 2) The Eleventh Metal is a short story prequel to era 1. The goal of this guide is to give you enough hints on the books and just enough outside-of-the-book information that revelations starting hammering home and the enormity of the Cosmere clicks. In comparison, I'd say it goes about 25-30 feet deep with plenty of room to go deeper.

Oathbringer is my go to favorite Cosmere book. Simply for the reason that Dalinar is my favorite Cosmere character, and all his backstory is so interesting to me. Sixth of Dusk takes the cake for the Novellas. It was such a fun story and a very interesting planet.

The question was also about the most powerful beings in the Cosmere that aren't Shards, to which the correct answer is Nightblood. I’m aware of the question, I never disagreed with the “powerful” assertion. I was just pointing out that, with the right understanding of his nature, he’s decently easy to avoid/“defeat”. Another obvious thing is that creating order from chaos, art from nothing are vital in the Cosmere to attracting cognitive shadows, demonstrated by the change in Yumi when she stacks rocks with intent. Another thing is appealing to the splintered shards nature, like Painter and Yumi creating art for Virtuosoity, and also maybe with ambitious ...Another user on this sub proposed that there are two ways Sazed can balance the intent of his shards. The first is to do nothing, zero plus zero equals zero. This form is known as Harmony. The other way to balance the Intents is opposite numbers of equal absolute value. Negative Two plus Positive Two equals Zero. From the coppermind: Trell is a mysterious entity worshiped by followers of Trellism on Scadrial.[2] Trell is also the name of the deity worshiped by followers of Trelagism,[3] though it is unclear to what extent these beings are related.[4][5] Trell became a force of opposition against Harmony sometime after the Catacendre.[6]Isaac Stuart is writing Boatload of Mummies (I know almost nothing about this book, other than it's a Mistborn novel), and Dan Wells was recently announced to be a co-author of future Cosmere novels. B) Read Mistborn Era 2 concurrently or before The Stormlight Archive 1 - 5. The rest is personal preference.

I'd argue that yes, Yumi is good without Cosmere background. As long as someone is willing to understand that there are some things that won't fit in fully or be particularly explained (Design, Masaka, Hoid) the rest of the narrative is fully self-contained and all the complexities are understandable without digging into the underlying Realmatics.

That's because Legion isn't in the Cosmere, it's just another of Brandon's works. Interesting but entirely unconnected to any Mistborn or Stormlight book, or any of the Cosmere. The Emperor's Soul is a Cosmere Novella set on Sell, the planet where Elantris is. It's set a little after the events in Elantris and is in an entirely new country.
