The Khonda Desert in Khrysalis has a good place for farming Sandstone. Over by the White Fur mobs is best. A few places in Zafaria, one in Savannah near Esop, one or two in Stone Town - sandstones with potential for sunstones, too. Stone Town also has quite a few stone block locations, which might drop sandstone, transmutable to sunstone. Sandstone can be transmuted from 15 Stone Blocks, and Sunstone can be transmuted from 15 Sandstones. So that’s lots of stones required. If you’re a gardener , you might have an easy way out: Deadly Helephant Ears, Evil Magma Peas, Fickle Pickle and Maelstrom Snap Dragon drop both Sandstones and Sunstones during their harvests.
